A Brazilian slate hearth provides a dark, durable base and works well with the Hathaway brindle brick slips in the chamber.
How the project came together
The beam is dark oak ceramic and non-combustible, giving the look of timber while remaining suitable around the stove.
The finished result is warm, traditional and very different from the old gas fire it replaced.
