The brief
The old gas fire was removed and the fireplace was opened up to reveal the original brickwork.
The bricks were cleaned, bringing back the natural texture and character of the fireplace chamber.
How the project came together
A flue liner and closure plate were installed, followed by a cut and polished slate hearth and a beam above the opening.
The result is a proper fireplace transformation, changing a dated gas fire into a real-fire focal point with restored brick character.
