The brief
In a garden room or log cabin environment, clearances and heat protection are critical. The stove was installed on a 20mm thick slate hearth with additional fire protection below.
Reclaimed bricks were used to provide heat protection to the rear and sides, giving the installation both a practical safety function and a warm, rustic appearance.
How the project came together
The flue system was designed to remain 5cm away from combustible material, which is a key detail in this type of structure.
The brickwork, timber walls and dark stove create a cosy, cabin-like finish that suits the setting perfectly.
Details worth noticing
This is not just a decorative project. It shows how a wood burning stove can be installed safely and attractively in a timber garden room when the correct protection and flue design are used.
