The brief
Fires In Stone constructed a raised hearth using brick and sandstone slabs, immediately giving the new feature more substance and traditional appeal.
A steel-framed chimney breast was built with an inglenook opening, allowing the stove to sit within a proper fireplace structure.
How the project came together
The Parkray wood burning stove was installed with a factory-made Schiedel flue system, while brick slips and an English oak beam completed the chamber finish.
The finished result is a strong example of how a dated fireplace can be completely reimagined rather than simply updated.
