The brief
The project has been designed as a complete interior feature rather than a simple media wall. The dark central chimney breast gives the electric fire and television a strong architectural frame, while the oak slatted panelling to the side introduces warmth, rhythm and texture.
At the heart of the installation is the Vision Solus 150 electric fire. This is a 1.5 metre electric fire designed for high-impact media wall and feature wall installations, with a wide flame picture that suits contemporary living rooms particularly well.
How the project came together
The made-to-measure oak base is an important part of the design. It grounds the wall visually, creates a practical low-level seating or display area, and softens the darker central section with natural timber tones.
The TV has been recessed into the custom-built chimney breast, keeping the finish clean and uncluttered. This avoids the common problem of a television looking like an afterthought above a fire; here, both elements feel planned into the same architectural composition.
Details worth noticing
The completed media wall feels luxurious without being overcomplicated. It combines flame effect, hidden services, joinery detail and a strong material palette to create a feature that is both practical for everyday use and impressive as a main living room centrepiece.
