The brief
The black granite tiles were removed and replaced with oyster split-faced slate, giving the fireplace a much lighter and more textured appearance.
The hearth was changed to a 30mm thick sandstone with a rustic edge, adding a natural and substantial base beneath the stove.
How the project came together
The old roof flashing was described as rough and unorthodox, so Fires In Stone removed it, re-felted the flat roof and installed the correct type of flashing.
The finished installation is both a visual upgrade and a technical correction, improving the fireplace and the external roof detail.
