The brief
The original bricks were cleaned and repointed, bringing character back to the fireplace opening.
A flexible flue liner, closure plate and hearth were installed before the stove was fitted.
How the project came together
A heat shield was also installed to protect the wooden surround from the intense heat from the flue pipe.
The finished result combines characterful brick restoration with the practical safety details needed around a live stove.
