The brief
The stone jambs and lintel, which would once have housed a cast iron range with open fire and bread oven, were restored using a needle gun.
The stonework above was repaired, and the full chimney breast was repointed inside and out.
How the project came together
A new hearth was fitted to complement the stone, before the Parkray Aspect 5 wood burning stove was installed.
The result is a true Fires In Stone project: historic materials brought back to life and finished with a modern real-fire appliance.
