The brief
The old timber framework was removed and the original fireplace was opened up to assess the structure properly.
Some structural repair work was needed to the brickwork, and the timber frame was rebuilt in steel to provide the depth and safety needed for the new fireplace.
How the project came together
The Norvik 5 from CastTec was then installed with a polished granite hearth, brick slips and a beam from M.A.C. Metalcraft.
The finished fireplace combines a traditional chamber feel with a practical, modern stove installation built on a safer and stronger structure.
