This garden room project is a strong example of how a stove can be installed safely in a timber structure when building regulations and heat protection are properly considered.

Norvik 5 Stove in Timber Garden Room

Project at a glance

Northumberland | Fireplaces | Planned, supplied, and installed by Fires in Stone.

The brief

Fires In Stone installed a 25mm thick solid limestone hearth, giving the stove a robust and appropriate base.

A rear brick wall was built to act as a heat shield, protecting the timber structure behind the appliance.

How the project came together

The flue system is ICID Plus from Schiedel UK, which the project details include is rated to allow installation 60mm away from combustible materials.

The result is a safe, attractive and practical garden room stove installation with both technical protection and visual character.
