The brief
The team removed the brick infill to expose the original stone jambs and header, bringing back the structure and age of the fireplace.
The stonework was carefully dressed using an air-powered needle gun, allowing the original material to be revealed without losing its historic feel.
How the project came together
A cottage-style limestone hearth was laid to suit the age and character of the property.
The final installation preserves the atmosphere of the old cottage while making the fireplace usable and visually impressive again.
