The brief
The fireplace was opened up to reveal a stone inglenook, with around 70 tubs of rubble removed during the process.
The stone jambs and head were dressed with a pneumatic needle gun, and the stone above was repointed.
How the project came together
A flexible flue liner was installed, followed by a stone hearth and log storage boxes to each side of the fireplace.
Reclaimed yellow brick was used for the feature walls inside the opening, creating a warm, rustic finish around the stove.
