The brief
The corners of the bricks had been smashed, so the team cut angled bricks and carefully pieced them in to repair the opening.
That repair work allowed the fireplace to retain a brick chamber rather than being hidden behind a simpler board finish.
How the project came together
The Parkray Aspect 5 wood burner now sits as the centrepiece of the restored opening.
The finished project is a good example of problem-solving on site and preserving character where possible.
