Stove installation

Unsafe Morpeth Stove Installation Corrected

This Morpeth project is one of the most important safety-led entries in the set. Fires In Stone were called to inspect an unsafe installation carried out by another company, and the issues found were serious.

Unsafe Morpeth Stove Installation Corrected

Project at a glance

Morpeth | Twin Wall Flue Systems | Planned, supplied, and installed by Fires in Stone.

The brief

The hearth was not the correct size, the closure plate was made from plywood and plasterboard, and it had been framed with timber. The timber frame had already caught fire.

The flue pipe was also not sealed correctly, making the installation unsafe and unsuitable to leave in place.

How the project came together

Fires In Stone replaced the closure plate with a galvanised steel plate supported by a steel frame, installed a Schiedel Technoflex flue liner and replaced the non-compliant hearth with a new stone one.

The stove was also replaced, leaving the customer with a much safer and properly built installation.
