The brief
The original arch had unfortunately been removed, so the team installed a header course with a steel lintel to restore the structure of the opening.
All of the mortar was raked back and the full chamber was repointed, bringing the brickwork back to life.
How the project came together
A restored brick fireplace gives a stove installation far more character than a plain boarded chamber.
The finished result combines careful restoration work with the practicality and atmosphere of a modern stove.
